Kitsune PvP Combo Guide
Updated 6 November 2026
How to use Kitsune in PvP after its untransformed kit was trimmed, while keeping the fruit's excellent grinding identity.
Kitsune is still a star for grinding and travel. Public summer 2026 notes made untransformed PvP pickier: the quick Z tap no longer breaks Instinct the way it used to, and some follow-ups lock you in animation. You can still win fights, you just cannot mash the old shortcuts.
What still works
- Transformation remains the power spike. A lot of Kitsune's threat lives in the transformed kit.
- Area attacks and mobility still let you control space, especially against players who stand still.
- Grinding and raid value did not fall off. If you mainly PvE, Kitsune is still an endgame fruit.
A simple PvP plan
- Do not open with a raw untransformed Z tap and expect it to break Instinct. That shortcut was trimmed.
- Transform when you have a safe window, then pressure with the wider transformed moves.
- If a move channels on hit, wait for it to finish before you press the next button.
- Keep a sword or fighting style ready for the moment someone sidesteps the fruit kit.
When to pick something else
If you only want combo PvP, awakened Dough or Control are simpler recommendations right now. Keep Kitsune if you already love the movement, you grind a lot, or the trade value matters to you.
Empyrean, the mythical Kitsune mutation, took similar PvP trims. The grinding identity stayed much healthier than the old untransformed PvP shortcuts.
